La Convention de 2005 de l’UNESCO sur la protection et la promotion de la diversité des expressions culturelles est cet accord historique par lequel la communauté internationale a officiellement reconnu la double nature, à la fois culturelle et économique, des expressions culturelles contemporaines produites par les artistes et les professionnels de la culture. Mais l’application de ses directives s’est heurté aux circonstances imposées par la révolution numérique, au point de conduire les Parties à une révision de ces directives afin d’adapter les exigences de la diversité des expressions culturelles aux défis de l’environnement numérique.
